WRITTEN WORDS
Inspired by a love of literature, Jehane was one of the first designers
to use language and writing in fine-art textiles and design.
Combining collage and embroidery with quotations, calligraphy, poetry,
maps, old documents, and extracts from dictionary definitions, Jehane’s
work is researched with an emphasis on history and personal associations.
Jehane was recently invited to give a talk at the Victoria & Albert
Museum’s study day ‘Art of the Stitch’, London, 2006.
