W O R L D B O O K D A Y 📚 Happy World Book Day! I have always enjoyed English literature, often inspired by the written word in my own practise. I am really happy that my new agency, Jehane Ltd, is increasingly working with publishers on book projects as well as licensing art for products. I’m continuing to develop our book publishing niche within the agency and enjoying every minute! This lovely tiger is one of Bex’s newest portfolio pieces @Bex_parkin Books inspire us to think around a subject, stretching our minds as well as our bodies! One of my favourite books is Viper Wine by Hermione Eyre @penguinbooks “This novel asks a very contemporary question, what is the cost of beauty?” I’d love to know one of your favourite books. Happy Easter Sunday! Thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post, it’s a pleasure to virtually meet you! I’m posting from my terraced English garden with our Spanish bluebells in full bloom. Soon the Roses will be decorating the roof of our tiny garden shed! Sharing one of my favourite painterly florals for you today by my artist Meghann Rader @meghannrader Whimsical, delicate, and expressive. The colours remind me of one of Bonnard’s French garden verandah paintings, I loved the Bonnard retrospective exhibition @tate Did you see it? His use and depth of colour is amazing! Jehane x

Happy Easter! A big welcome to my new followers and I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Jehane. It comes from mediaeval French ~ Joan of Arc was called Jehane. Pronounced with a soft ‘Je’ as in Je t’aime and a hard Hane rhyming with Yarn!
I am an artist and business manager with 25 years successful experience in the creative industries. I am inspired by colour and conversations. Born and bred in Brighton, I still live here and work from a collective studio, Studio Eleven (where I’ve been based for 8 years this year!) I studied Textile Design at Winchester School of Art (1994). I was one of the first designers to incorporate quotes, handwriting, and vintage documents in surface pattern - something which is now commonplace!
I worked as a full time freelance designer for 15 years licensing my designs to industry, private commissions, and making hand-made products for outlets such as English Heritage & Liberty of London.
I now personally run my own Illustration & Licensing agency, Jehane Ltd, representing illustrators from U.K., Canada, Austria, and New Zealand. I’ve been an artist’s agent for 15 years, selling to clients and publishers including Anthropologie, Walker Books, Museums & Galleries and National Trust.
I have always had a strong work ethic and believe that listening to yourself is key. I absolutely love what I do and have worked hard to get here. It has helped me hugely along the way to question my deepest interests; I believe it’s the most invaluable barometer for decision-making. I’m fascinated with the creative process and regularly do creative coaching with artists including folio reviews.
