New Artist! Nina Pace

Nina Pace

A very warm welcome to my new artist Nina Pace!

I am over the moon to share news of the latest artist to join my amazing team of illustrators. Nina is a New York painter, illustrator and surface designer extraordinaire.
After working for textile design firms and freelancing as a textile designer, Nina started selling her own products under the brand name of ‘Ash and Anchor’. Now working full-time as a painter and designer - Nina's work is vibrant, individual, and full of glorious colour.

I asked Nina what made her want to become an artist:

“From my earliest memories I was always drawing and painting and making things, so it was never really a decision to become an artist but more of a calling or an internal need. I need to make things, I need to make images, it’s me in my happiest, most natural state!”

How did you find your style?

“I really got myself into the groove of creating everyday, and doing non-stop personal projects. I feel like when I’m working on a personal piece, I can put everything in the image that I love to draw, and after doing that on repeat, my style naturally started to emerge.”

Has it changed since you started?

“Yes! I used to be married to reference photos and creating more realistic images. Now, I can pull from the same inspiring subject matter like nature, but make up my own flowers or leaves, which has been beyond freeing.”

Would you also like to know what makes Nina tick?

“I’m happy, anxious, shy, and sometimes loud too!
I thrive in smaller groups and and value close relationships. I’m family oriented and a bit of a homebody! I’m not as great at “flying by the seat of my pants” and feel better when things are planned out and I’m aware of the plan! Any day that I get time to create is a good day”

What attracted you to work with Jehane?

“I absolutely love Jehane’s love for art and artists. I was attracted to how she interacts with thousands of artists across the globe, and is genuinely interested in everyone’s work and ideas! Her generosity and kindness is so evident. She loves the community of artists she has met online and she’s proactively helping, encouraging, and uplifting us all.”

We are already working on an abundance of illustration commissions and very exciting projects ranging from non-fiction books, patterns, and editorial illustration.
I can't wait to explore new projects with you too.

Nina Pace’s artwork encapsulates the true wonder that is nature. Her flowing style has a magnificent folksy quality with a point of difference which is truly her own.

It's a pleasure to welcome Nina to our family.

Warmly,
