I’m thrilled to introduce Iona Skye Howie, a Montréal-based illustrator and surface designer with a foundation in traditional oil painting. We share a deep love of purple and all things associated with it!

Iona finds inspiration in both Medieval Manuscript Illumination and the Arts and Crafts movement - Iona delights in depicting stylized flora and fauna richly imbued with colour, texture and fine detail.

“My creative process generally involves discovering a source of inspiration through either spending time in nature, studying art history (particularly Medieval illumination), or through other areas of interest (i.e. herbalism, gardening, cooking). Often I find inspiration merely from stumbling across a combination of colours in an unexpected place, such as while walking down the street.”
