Alejandra Peñaloza
ALEJANDRA PEÑALOZA
Alejandra Peñaloza is a Mexican illustrator, inspired by the magic of nature, the charm of everyday life, and the quiet beauty of small moments. Alejandra’s work blends realism with a hint of surrealism in rich and colourful compositions.
Based in Berlin, Alejandra approaches each project with curiosity, whether capturing a moment from nature or an imagined scene, she aims to create illustrations that feel authentic, expressive, and full of life.
Alejandra’s creative process starts with observation, research, and loose sketches that develop into detailed work. She experiments with colour and stay open to change, allowing each piece to evolve naturally, even if that means starting over.
She immerses herself in each project to gain insight into the behaviours, movements, and stories that characterise her subjects. Alejandra translates these observations into vibrant, dynamic images, capturing the essence of each subject both in its natural setting and in dreamlike scenarios.
Clients include Chronicle Books, Anthropologie, Science Magazine, Breathe, Churchill’s Confectionery, Museums & Galleries, Olympia Le Tan, GMC Books, and The Art File.
Alejandra Peñaloza is available to commission.

“The first thing that attracted me to work with Jehane, is her uniquely holistic approach to the illustration industry. Her approach, encouraging artists to discover what truly inspires them and create from that place, provides a strong foundation for building a sustainable, long-term practice.”
